Accounts Clerk

Overview

To support the Finance Department by ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions, assisting with invoicing, payments, reconciliations, and maintaining proper financial records for AgroPests Solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and verify supplier invoices for accuracy and approvals
• Record purchases and expenses in the accounting system.
• Prepare supplier payment schedules and assist with payments.
• Maintain supplier statements and reconcile supplier accounts.
• Manage petty cash records and ensure proper supporting documentation.
• Prepare and post bank deposits/cheques.
• Ensure proper filing of banking documents (deposit slips, statements, vouchers).
• Enter financial data into accounting software (QuickBooks, Excel).
• Maintain accurate filing (digital and physical) of financial records.
• Assist with monthly closing activities and audit preparation.
• Support payroll processing and statutory payments.
• Ensure proper documentation for VAT/tax-related transactions.
• Assist in preparing documents for statutory compliance (e.g., withholding tax, PAYE, VAT).
• Follow internal controls and company financial procedures.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• CPA Part I/II or equivalent (added advantage).
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar accounting role (is preferred but not mandatory).
